Gemma Announces New LaunchPAD Program

Gemma is excited to announce the LaunchPAD Program, thanks to a grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). This program will help meet the emotional and behavioral health needs of young children and their families in the Greater Philadelphia region and will connect community members to important services. The program consists of three components:

  • Family Check Up Online
  • Mental Health First Aid
  • A Young Child Wellness Council

This innovative, evidence-based program is projected to reach approximately 4,000 people per year and 20,000 people over five years.

According to Valerie Colquitt Wright, Senior Director of Prevention Programs at Gemma: “LaunchPAD will provide the opportunity for more people in the community to learn mental health support techniques to respond to mental health crises and will play a crucial role in recognizing challenges, offering initial support, and guiding people toward professional help.”
