Dear friend,
Because of your generosity, Gemma Services is here to walk alongside children and families who are struggling – offering critical behavioral health, child welfare, prevention services, and education for thousands each year. At Gemma, we believe in the transformational power of knowing you have someone by your side through hard times. We call this approach Accompaniment – meeting children and families where they are and partnering with them as they move through their life journey. It is a philosophy grounded in dignity, trust, and hope, and it transforms lives every day.
Here are just a few examples:
- A second grader at Martin Luther School who arrived two grade levels behind is now reading with confidence – and proudly bringing books home.
- A teenager receiving therapy through our Outpatient Mental Health Services program, deeply affected by community violence, is beginning to heal and imagine a hopeful future for himself.
- A grandparent participating in our Family Support Program, one of our Prevention Services, who previously felt overwhelmed by a grandchild’s challenging behaviors, now feels supported and more confident, and is seeing real, positive change.
- A child participating in our Residential Treatment Program who arrived carrying deep shame about her past traumatic experiences now is preparing to move to a loving foster family – proud of her growth and excited for what lies ahead.
These successes are possible because of the generosity of friends like you. Your support is also shaping Gemma’s future in lasting ways. Through the Campaign for Gemma, our community has come together to create an exceptional new campus for our Martin Luther School. Thanks to this collective commitment, renovations are almost complete to the building, classrooms are being furnished, and construction is underway on an addition to include a gymnasium and dedicated elective spaces.

Next, work will begin on a state-of-the-art outdoor sports facility – an investment that will nurture student wellness, build confidence, and create new opportunities for belonging, growth, and joy.
As we approach the end of our fiscal year on June 30, I hope you will make a gift to Gemma. Your support will help bring the new Martin Luther School campus fully to life and also sustain our behavioral health, child welfare, and prevention programs that children and families rely on every day. Each donation – of any amount – helps to ensure that care, compassion, and opportunity remain within reach for thousands in our local communities.
Your generosity enables Gemma to continue accompanying children and families as they work toward brighter futures. Thank you for walking with us and believing in the importance of a world where everyone knows they matter.
With appreciation,
Kristen
