Message from our CEO

Dear friend,

Every day, I am inspired by the children, youth, and families we work with at Gemma. Their strength and determination are incredible. We strive to help them to find hope, and we look for every opportunity to convey these simple and powerful messages:

  • To the child who experienced abuse and neglect and often cries or acts aggressively toward others: you matter. We will help you heal, find hope, and feel safe again.
  • To the single parent who is struggling to provide for their family’s basic needs and feels like she isn’t a good enough parent: you matter. We will stand with you and help you along the way.
  • To the third grader who runs the halls and tries to hurt himself when upset: you matter. We see you, hear you, and believe in you.
  • To the foster parent who is opening their caring home to a child experiencing emotional and behavioral difficulties: we are here to support you. You matter.

And to our friends who make Gemma’s work possible: YOU matter. We are honored to have you as part of the Gemma community. Whether we are working with kids and families in our Residential Treatment Program, Martin Luther School, or one of our Community Based Programs such as Foster Family Care, together with your help, we can transform hope into action for children and families.

As we near the end of 2022, please consider making a gift to support Gemma Services. You are helping kids and families find hope, feel worthy, and believe they can strive for a bright future. You make it possible for us to stand with thousands of kids and families every day.

With gratitude,

Kristen
